Teach Your Kids the Simple So Hum Mantra Meditation

In today's fast-paced world, children need tools to cope with the stress they encounter. Meditation is a simple yet powerful tool that can help kids develop inner peace and focus.

The So Hum Mantra Meditation is an effective and effortless way to help you and your tiny humans be more present in your meditation.

By using the sound of our breaths, we can stay focused and centred during our meditation practice. In Sanskrit, So means "I am," and Hum means "That" as in the universe.

This mantra symbolizes how connected we all are. Starting with just 30 seconds. As you inhale, in your mind say "So," and as you exhale say "Hum." Repeat this mantra through your cycles of breaths.

Research has shown that meditation changes the brain, quite literally. Even just 30 minutes a day over 8 weeks has been shown to increase concentration, memory, emotional regulation, and our fight-or-flight stress response. If this can happen to our adult brains, imagine what it can do to our developing tiny humans!

Teaching your kids mindfulness practices such as the So Hum Mantra Meditation can help them develop a sense of inner peace and focus that will serve them well throughout their lives. Give it a try and share if you found it helpful.
