Color Breathing for Kids: A Fun and Relaxing Technique for Better Sleep

Did you know there's a cool way to help your kids relax and sleep better? It's called Color Breathing! It's a technique that uses your imagination to breathe in happy colors and breathe out yucky, stressed colors.

First, get comfy and take some deep breaths. Then, pick a happy color like pink or green and imagine it coming into your body as you breathe in. Let the color fill you up and cover all your worries and stress from your head to your toes. Then, breathe out a color that reminds you of stress like red, gray or black, and watch it leave your body, taking all the worries and stress with it.

You can do this with your parents before bed, or even in the car when you're feeling stressed. It's like a little game for your mind that helps you feel better. Try it out and see how it makes you feel!

This is a great way to make your feelings visible and tangible. Which in turn helps you manage your emotions better! And if you're looking for ways to take your mindfulness practice even further, check out Metta Play's bilingual yoga and affirmation cards for kids here. These cards can help your kids learn mindfulness and a new language in a fun and engaging way.
