Square breathing

What? Square breathing is a deep breathing exercise that helps calm your nervous system. There are lots of modifications (like pausing, using longer or shorter counts) and names (like box or four-square breathing). This simple one works best for you and your little ones!!
What's it called in other languages? Respiration en boîte (fr) | nafas kotak (in) | respiración cuadrada (sp) | hézi hūxī (man)
Why? It's an easy and memorable practice to help you find your calm and focus by slowing down your breath.
How?
❤️ Find a comfortable position
🧡 Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 4 counts, inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 4 counts. Repeat
💛 You can pick any number as long as your inhales and exhales are equal counts
💚 Drawing a box or tracing it with your fingers (or even nose) helps draw your attention to the present moment
Fun fact: Navy SEALs use this technique to stay focused in stresful situations!!
